Real Results from Our First Pilots
Four of the businesses running Kuro AI during Private Beta, what they measured, and what it did not do for them.

How we collected these
Kuro AI is in Private Beta, so these are pilot findings rather than years of track record. Figures are self-reported by the owners over the periods shown, and compared against their own numbers from before they started. First names are used at their request. Where a result is not something we can fairly attribute to Kuro — new customers won, or a satisfaction score — we have left it out rather than dress it up.
The Pilots in Detail
David
Pub Owner
Bermondsey, London
Square, Gmail, three years of till exports
9 weeks on Private Beta
Before Kuro
Locking up at 11pm, then an hour at the kitchen table matching till takings against the bank statement. Supplier invoices lived in a carrier bag until the accountant asked for them.
What we set up
Connected his Square terminal and inbox, and uploaded three years of till exports. Turned on the morning briefing and refund alerts.
What changed
Admin time saved weekly
Mischarges found in 9 weeks
Until it paid for itself
"Two of my suppliers had crept their prices up and I had not clocked it. Kuro spotted both in the first week — that one conversation was worth more than the subscription."
What it did not do
It has not replaced his bookkeeper. Kuro reads his accounts but cannot write to them, so VAT returns are still a quarterly job the two of them do together.
Mike
Café and Food Store Owner
Hackney, London
Square, supplier emails, weekly stock counts in Excel
11 weeks on Private Beta
Before Kuro
Ordering on gut feel at 6am. Throwing away tray bakes on a Sunday, then running out of oat milk by Friday. The stock spreadsheet was three weeks out of date.
What we set up
Uploaded nine months of product-level sales. Every Monday Kuro lists what has dropped below its reorder point and has the supplier emails drafted and waiting.
What changed
Less written off each week
Time saved weekly
Weeks with no stockout
"I still place the orders myself. It just tells me what I am about to run out of and writes the email — that is the bit I always got wrong at six in the morning."
What it did not do
Kuro does not place orders. It drafts them and holds them, and Mike approves every single one before it sends.
Marcus
Independent Business Consultant
Islington, London
Outlook, HubSpot, proposal documents
7 weeks on Private Beta
Before Kuro
Proposals going quiet and him not noticing for a fortnight. Two hundred unread emails. Chasing felt pushy, so it kept sliding down the list.
What we set up
Switched on the daily follow-up drafter, and connected HubSpot so he can update a deal by describing the call rather than filling in forms.
What changed
Recovered from one stalled proposal
Admin time saved weekly
Quiet threads chased
"A proposal had been sitting unanswered for six days and I had genuinely forgotten it existed. Kuro had the follow-up written and waiting. They signed that week."
What it did not do
The drafts still need a human. Marcus rewrites roughly one in three before it goes out, which is rather the point of holding them for approval.
Yusuf
Plumbing & Heating, four engineers
Walthamstow, London
Xero, Gmail, Google Calendar
6 weeks on Private Beta
Before Kuro
More than £9,000 of invoices past due and no system for chasing any of it. Quotes went out from the van and were never followed up. No real idea which jobs made money.
What we set up
Connected Xero read-only. Now he asks who owes him money in plain English, and the chase emails come back drafted for him to approve.
What changed
Overdue invoices collected
Faster average payment
Time saved weekly
"I asked it who owes me money, in those exact words, and it just told me. Then it wrote the chasers. I had been putting that off for months."
What it did not do
Kuro cannot raise or send an invoice — Xero stays read-only by design. It found what was owed and drafted the chase; Yusuf sent them.
